Job Title: Scoop Operator
Location: Bulyanhulu Gold Mine, Tanzania
Positions Available: 6
Job Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
-
Promote a proactive attitude toward health and safety within the team
-
Conduct workplace inspections before starting or continuing any task
-
Complete pre-start checks on heavy machinery and report any damage
-
Communicate effectively with engineers, geologists, and shift supervisors to meet daily operational targets
-
Assist in the development, production, and maintenance of underground operations
-
Ensure safe operation of scoop equipment such as the Caterpillar R2900G LHD
-
Maintain clean and accessible transportation routes underground
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Secondary education (Form IV/VI) or equivalent
-
VETA certification, apprenticeship, or a diploma in heavy equipment operations
-
Valid Tanzanian driver’s license
-
Ability to operate heavy mobile equipment safely
-
Knowledge of Mine Health & Safety regulations
Experience Required:
-
At least 4 years of experience working as a Scoop Operator in an underground mining environment
-
Experience with Tele-remote operations is an added advantage
-
Strong understanding of underground mining techniques, including:

Trucking development
-
Production headings
-
Scaling and bogging
-
Road and ramp maintenance

Skills & Competencies:

Strong communication skills in Swahili and English

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Time management and the ability to meet production goals safely
