Role Purpose
The Engineering Stores Controller will be responsible for ensuring effective stock control and resource optimization within the engineering stores. The role plays a key part in maintaining service levels, reducing operational risks, and supporting continuous improvement in inventory management.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure the integrity of stock management systems and supervise store staff.

Enforce adherence to store processes for governance and inventory optimization.

Collaborate with departments to analyze stock levels and minimize risks.

Work with buyers and vendors to identify cost-reduction opportunities.

Manage the purchasing of stock/non-stock items and vendor payments.

Develop and sustain vendor partnerships.

Oversee the tool store, ensuring proper condition and availability of tools.

Collaborate with finance on stock management projects and financial governance.

Prepare management reports as required.

Lead and manage the Stores Team to ensure high customer service standards.

Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.

Oversee consumables, spare parts, and store assets.

Motivate and facilitate team performance and continuous improvement.
Key Competencies & Attributes

Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing teams.
-
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (e.g., COSWIN, IBIS).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Self-driven, analytical, and a problem-solver.

Knowledge of maintenance practices and principles of VPO (Voyager Plant Optimization).

Strong organizational and decision-making ability.
Minimum Requirements
-
Degree in Stores Management, Engineering, or Procurement.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
-
4–7 years of technical mechanical/electrical experience in an FMCG environment.
-
4–7 years of experience managing stores with computerized inventory systems.
-
Experience in buying practices and procurement processes.
-
Certification from the National Board of Materials Management.
